Tom Cruise stars as American spy Ethan Hunt in this espionage based action-thriller. When his team is killed during an undercover mission to stop a list detailing the identity of all CIA's active agents getting into the wrong hands, Ethan is soon framed as being a double-agent and must use all his spy skills to get himself out of the situation.

Mission Impossible starts off as a reasonably enjoyable James Bond clone and soon turns into a ridiculous all out action film, with a scene seeing Cruise break into CIA computers by dangling on a wire from the ceiling and a finale, so over the top it makes XXX look like a documentary.

The channel tunnel finale featuring Jean Reno chasing a TGV train through the tunnel in a helicopter while Cruise attempts to stop the bad guy jumping on to it is so ridiculous and badly done that it overshadows the whole film.

All in all, Mission Impossible is watchable, but that start is boring and the end is unbelievable.
