The sequel to Mission Impossible sees Tom Cruise reprise his role as spy Ethan Hunt. This time round, he's up against bad guy Sean Ambrose (Dougray Scott) who plans to get his hands on a lethal virus along with the antidote and use them to make himself a lot of money. Hunt employs English thief Nyah (Thandie Newton) to help him in his endeavour, believing as Ambrose's ex-girlfriend she may be able to find out more about his plot.

Where Mission Impossible was stupid, Mission Impossible II is mind-numbingly stupid. The last half an hour is an all out action sequence involving helicopters, motorcycles and a terrible Tom Cruise vs Dougray Scott beach fight sequence which is so bad it is laugh out loud funny. The plot device used in the first film of people being able to make masks that look like other people and pull them off to reveal their true identities is over used and in one particular case is so ridiculous that it makes no sense what-so-ever.

Overall, this film is about as bad as the first one. It's reasonably entertaining as an action film, but in parts is hilariously over-the-top and in other places if you think even a little you'll spot massive plot holes.
