Kate Hudson stars in this Voodoo related horror thriller set in the deep south. Caroline (Hudson) works in a hospital caring for the elderly as she gains experience to start training as a nurse. When one of her patients dies and no-one seems bothered she decides to pack her job in and get a new one. She soon finds herself working as a live in carer for an old couple, the husband is wheelchair bound and mute after a stroke and the old woman doesn't take kindly to strangers. Caroline soon begins to think something suspicious is going on with the house and is soon dragged into the supernatural events which take place there.

Skeleton Key is a pretty standard super-natural thriller. The first 2/3rds of the film see Caroline do all the things a sole heroine in such a film really shouldn't do (e.g. nose about in an attic she has been told not to nose about in). The first part of the film is a bit slow paced and pretty by the book, but the film picks up towards the ending which I found quite enjoyable.

Overall, not the best Supernatural thriller/horror ever, but not bad and the ending makes up for the somewhat slow start.
