This Danish prison drama follows convict Rune as he is admitted into the penal system. His crime is for stabbing a man, but he soon learns his victim has friends on the inside who force him to make tough decisions in order to stay alive.
Like Un Prophete, his first task is to take care of another inmate who is proving bothersome. Gritty and violent, the film shows life inside the prison system as bleak and depressing, especially for those at the bottom of the social pyramid.
While the film says little that has not been said in other prison movies, it's still a good example of the genre and features a strong performance from the lead actor.
