Roy Dillon (John Cusack) is a small time con-man, making a living scamming people in small one time scams. When a con goes wrong, he ends up in hospital and there to take care of him is his mother, Lilly (Anjelica Huston) and his girlfriend Myra (Anette Bening). The problem is, both his mother and girlfriend are also in the con game and it's not long before everyone is wondering who's scamming who.

The Grifters is slickly shot and the plot is reasonable, albiet at times a little hard to follow. The three main leads are all pretty good and trying to work out each of the characters angles is interesting.

All in all, a good film, but not quite gripping enough for my tastes.
