Inception
Director: Christopher Nolan Year: 2010 Language: English Country: America
Cobb (Leonardo DiCaprio) is an "extractor", he makes a living entering into people's dreams and extracting an idea or secret which a client of his wishes to know. When Saito (Ken Watanabe), a wealthy business man, asks him whether it is possible to plant an idea into someone's mind while they are dreaming, Cobb undertakes the challenge to perform inception on a business rival of Saito's in order that he might profit from it. Cobb assembles a team and comes up with an elaborate plan to sedate the man and create a dream in which they might plant the idea.

Inception is an amazing achievement, the main premise is something which is difficult to explain, but simple to grasp when it is shown on screen. It has a kind of Matrix vibe to it in that while in the dream, the basic rules of the physical universe can be bent, but it is much more than just another Matrix rip-off, Inception is something a lot more original. With a great premise and an exciting, action packed plot, the film just gets better with great cinematography and visuals and good performances from the main characters.

Overall, a very good movie which cements Nolan's reputation as a master of the art.
