John Rambo is back. After being sent to prison at the end of First Blood, Rambo is given the chance to leave if he returns to Vietnam to undertake a 1 man intelligence gathering mission. His goal is to locate a POW camp where American soldiers might be being held and take photos, he is give strict orders not to engage the enemy.

When he discovers that American POWs are alive, he starts a 1 man rescue mission, which doesn't go down well with his superiors who have their own agenda. Rambo finds himself in a situation where he must become a 1 man army and rescue the American soldiers himself.

First Blood: Part II is completely over the top and even although there is a fair amount of action, you're still left with the feeling that now much happens through the relatively short 90 minute run-time. A helicopter dogfight at the end seems to be big budget and packs a punch, but other than that, there's little outstanding sequences.

Overall, nowhere near as good as the first and a bit silly, worth watching only if you're bored and it's on or you love John Rambo.
